The wind does not break a tree that can bend. The wind helps those without an axe to cut wood. African Proverb
Happy Holidays Everyone!
Christmas is upon us and before we know it a New Year will be here. With that I say "Thank You" for trusting me with your resources, prayers and supporting this ministry in Ghana.
When I reminisce on my journey in Ghana for the past 7 years (October 26th, Anniversary), I can say that the wind has helped me move as an axe, sometimes unknowingly, to suuport communities, families, friends, and Ministry partners move the wheels of change.
As a Global Servant-Leader from Charlotte, North Carolina by way of Dayton, Ohio, USA I was blown to serve in Ghana in 2016. The missionary work that began then continues by "cutting the wood" of poverty, forced labor, pain from ritual servitude (Trokosi), and vulernability in the lives of disadvantaged girls now through my 501(c)(3)/Nonprofit organization, Esteem Resources Africa.

A Few Reasons to Celebrate in 2023!
Africa Global Radio followed up on 3 of our girls 3 Years Later-See where they are Now! 3-Minute Video Feature - Click: https://youtu.be/jz-u76d81TA?si=cper1Ek9gkrnAoOB

Through a generous fundraiser from Grace Tabernacle Baptist Church, Lynhurst, Ohio, 15 young ladies from our SEW Program and 2 staff members were accepted and Graduated from the 13-week Online Entrepreneurship Program organized by Let's Lead Africa & Arizona State University Thunderbird Program. The fundraiser is also affording 4,000 Ghana Cedi in Scholarships!

1st of it's kind! "Sewing for Change" Holiday Sale! Through your support we were able to buy 21 yards of fabric to jump start the girls 1st Sale of creating African print and linen House wares from table runners to pillow covers to napkins and clothes to sell. Not only was it a Success but the young ladies learned a lot about customer services, marketing, sales, and of course, how to make and grow money!
ERA has also become a small but powerful economic engine that provides opportunities for skills development and compensation to nine young women in the SEW Program through our cleaning and catering teams, as well as on-site internships.

In addition, ERA is a new member of the Ghana National Education Campaign Coalition (GNECC)
We Got our 501c3 tax-exempt status! Thank you ERA Board Members for the foresight to push this through.
Hello from Forgive! More from "Girls of Ghana" Series
I am Forgive Tomko, a proud member of the Sowing Empowered Women (SEW) Program founded by Rovaughna Richardson. As a Baptist Vocational Training Centre graduate, I am passionate about becoming an entrepreneur; that's why I joined the SEW program in 2022.
I am delighted to introduce myself as one of the new interns of the SEW Program. I am deeply committed to empowering women to achieve their full potential, and I believe every woman deserves the opportunity to succeed. I am confident that I have the skills, knowledge, and passion to make a significant impact in this program.
With this internship, I hope to learn more about using the internet, improve my typing skills, and learn how to print and do photocopies.
I am thrilled to work alongside all of you to make a positive impact. Together, we can empower women and change lives.

The Journey Continues...
But this journey began when I left my McCrorey Heights, NC home more than 20 years ago to embark on my first-ever experience doing short-term missionary work in St. Ann's Bay and St. Mary's Parrish, Jamaica. Through my sending church, Friendship Missionary Baptist, Charlotte, NC, I did a couple more short-term mission trips, then saved enough money over a 3-year period to serve on a six-month mission to Cape Town, South Africa, in 2012 with Teen Challenge and attend Enon Tabernacle Baptist Church both of Western Cape, SA. Those experiences set the foundation for the long-term missionary journey in Ghana and possibly beyond...

The Axe that Cuts The Wood- Esteem Resources Africa
Today the seed that was watered many years ago continues to blossom into a tree, Esteem Resources Africa (ERA) whose fruits through God's grace and the support of many have become food to many young ladies in Ghana. We have over 70 girls registered in our flagship, Sowing Empowered Woman (SEW) Program, and have provided counseling for over 160 girls since 2016. It is through God and You that ERA is preparing young ladies to take up the future and make it their own through hope, faith, and love. Â
